“Color – A course in mastering the art of mixing colors” a book written by Betty Edwards is mostly on exploring color theory. As with her previous book -“The New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain”, in this book too she comes up with interesting exercise. She tries to break down the color theory notion into its components through these exercises. This is sort of an introduction, barely touching into the subject but providing a good ground work to start from. I was expecting more to be gained. I tried a few exercises but not sure if they will actually help. In the end the author also agrees that colors are individual preference and through painting only one can unravel the theory.
Rating: 3/5. Good introductory book. Exercises not very engaging. Very paintings are given as examples to understand color theory applications.
